TROY -- Patricia P. Haley, 81, beloved wife and best friend of Eugene (Don) Haley Sr., has gone into the open arms of the Lord while in the loving embrace of her husband on Aug. 14, 2013.

She was born March 15, 1932, in Delaware, the only child of George W. and Beulah C. Powell.

Patricia attended Claymont High School and then went on to earn her nursing degree at Brown's School of Nursing in Wilmington, Del.

Patricia pursued her nursing career throughout Delaware and Maine. Patricia retired from nursing to become Don's right-hand woman, eventually becoming dairy farmers for a number of years. Pat and Don got the travelling itch and started travelling for the Army Corps of Engineers until breast cancer, in 1997, brought them home to Maine.

After successfully surviving breast cancer, Patricia continued to pursue her love of gardening, reading and crocheting.

Patricia was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Marie "Snookie" Haley Carr, of Pennsylvania; and her best friend, Susan Pezzuto, of New Jersey.

Surviving Patricia are her loving husband of 60 years; her son, Don Jr., and wife Cindy, of Troy; daughter Sharon Mitchell, of Unity; grandson Jeromey House and wife Michelle, of Portland; granddaughter Katherine and husband Douglas Raven, of Troy; grandson Joshua Mitchell, of Unity; granddaughter Shelby Murdock, of Unity; great-grandson Daveon Raven, of Troy; and brother-in-law, Thomas Carr, of Pennsylvania.
