SIDNEY -- Lauri Darnell Pierce Michaud, 54, of Sidney, left this Earth unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, and was reunited with her loving Savior.

She was born in Chicago, Ill., on March 1, 1958, the daughter of Janet (Grammar) Pierce. She grew up in Kansas and Redding, Conn., where she graduated from Joel Barlow High School. Lauri went on to further her studies and graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor of science degree in nursing and UCLA with a master's in adult/pediatric oncology. She worked as an advanced practice R.N. in California and ran the Brevard County Mobile Clinic for indigents before her retirement because of illness from cervical dystonia along with cervical and thoracic alkalizing spondylosis, osteoarthritis in her spine.

Lauri, like a pebble dropped on the surface of a lake and creating ripples, touched the lives of many people who loved and adored her. She was a kind and gentle soul with a loving and generous heart, always willing to help those less fortunate. She had a great fondness for animals and an unwavering faith in Jesus.

Lauri will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but more so by her beloved husband, Todd Michaud, whom she married Aug. 19, 2006; her brother-in-law, Scott Michaud; mother-in-law Lorraine and husband Harry Belliveau; and daughter Brianna Kissel.

Lauri was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Cristo, and sister Kelly (Pierce) Giddings.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date and will be announced. Arrangements are with Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. An online guest book may be signed and condolences may be expressed at
