PALMYRA -- Joyce Mary (Stanchfield) Patten, 76, died peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, after a short illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 16, 1936, in Peabody, Mass., and graduated from Essex Agricultural and Technical High School in Hathorne, Mass.

Joyce enjoyed baking daily and giving away the baked goods to family and friends in the community. She also enjoyed gardening, antiquing and spending time with her family.

She leaves behind her six children, Paulie Ripton and her husband, Thomas, Bruce Patten and his wife, Elaine, Penny Patten-Bryant and her husband, Cedric Bryant, Brett Patten and his wife, April, Brad Patten, and Paige Patten and her boyfriend, Ron Hustus; 14 grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Elvera (Tersolo) Stanchfield; her first husband, George Patten; and her second husband, Robert Meade.

Memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Charities Maine Home Makers Services, 136 State St., Augusta, ME 04330, in Joyce's memory.
