CHESHIRE, Conn. - Willie "Bill" Morin, 84, passed away on May 7, 2014, in Cheshire, Conn. He was born in Brassua, Maine, on June 16, 1929, the son of Lucien and Yvonne (Lamontagne) Morin.

He served in the Army in the Korean war, and in Germany in the field artillery. He was employed by Canadian Pacific Railroad in Maine. He lived in Waterbury, Conn., for many years and was employed as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the American Legion in Oakville, Conn., and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8075 in Prospect, Conn.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Walter Morin and Lloyd Morin; a niece, Suzanne (Morin) Saragosa, and her son, a great-nephew, Jeremy Saragosa.

He is survived by his older brother, Rene Morin, and his wife, Huguette, and his sister-in-law, Frances Morin, of Jackman, Maine; nieces and nephew, Linda Conrad and husband Dale, Diane St. Hilaire and husband Don, Karen Moore and husband Harald, and David Morin, all from Jackman; and great-nieces and great-nephews. He will also be remembered fondly by the Brooks family in Connecticut. He will be greatly missed by all.

A graveside celebration of his life at 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at St. Anthony's Cemetery on Heald Stream Road in Jackman, with the Rev. Kevin Martin officiating.
