Robert G. Gousse, 78, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at James Haley VA Medical Center in Tampa, Fla. He was born Oct. 5,1935, in Lewiston, Maine, to William and Bernadette (Lavallee) Gousse. He attended Cony High School, then entered the Air Force. After being in the Air Force, he was employed by Sears, Blouin Motors and Tri City Dodge, then operated his own business, Bob's Sharpening Service, in Winthrop, Maine. In 1994, he moved to Hudson, Fla.

His interests included traveling, crossword puzzles, wood-burning and he was an extensive reader of Civil War and World War II books.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Mancenette (Thibodeau) Gousse; his parents; a daughter, Terry; and a brother, Raymond Gousse. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Marilyn (Nava) Gousse; a daughter, Lynn Gousse, of Hudson, Fla.; and two sons, Gerard Gousse, of Fayette, Maine, and Michael Gousse, of Readfield, Maine. He is also survived by a brother, George Gousse, of Manchester, Maine; and two sisters, Rachel Daniel, of Augusta, Maine, and Rita Heap, of Odessa, Fla.

As per his request, there will be no funeral service. He will be buried at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
