PALMYRA - Lawrence H. Bois, 75, passed away at Eastern Maine Medical Center on June 13, 2014. He was born on March 24, 1939, in Lewiston, the son of William and Annie (Charette) Bois.

Larry graduated from Waterville High School, Colby College, received a master's in social work from Syracuse University, a third year in social service administration from Tulane University and a master's in hospital administration from the University of Michigan.

Larry worked for the Maine Children's Home, was director of social service at Pineland Hospital, assistant superintendent at the Bangor Mental Health Institute and then served as executive secretary of the Maine Council of Community Mental Health Centers. He subsequently entered the field of real estate with his wife Joannie.

Larry was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Irene Boyle. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Joan Cole Bois, are his sons, Mark, of Virginia, and David and his husband, Daryn, of Oakland Calif.; his brother, Bill, and wife Lucille, of Fairfield; stepdaughter Michele LePegna; step-grandson Julian M. Bither; and step-granddaughter Braden Lily Soquet; and many nieces and nephews. He is survived also by Joannie's six siblings, with whom he enjoyed spending much time.

Larry loved flying, travel, cruises, and he enjoyed the company of family and friends.

According to his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Those who wish to remember Larry in a special way, may make gifts to the .
