AUGUSTA - Gerard J. Allarie, age 90, died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Maine Veterans' Home, Augusta, with his daughters by his side, following a long illness. He was born in Augusta, Maine, on September 21, 1923, a son of the late Philibert and Blanche (LeClair) Allarie.

Mr. Allarie was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II and earning several commendations.
He had been employed by the VA Hospital at Togus, Allarie's Garage, Shaw's Supermarket and Bates Mfg.
Mr. Allarie was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church and was a Life Member of the Calumet Club.
He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa (Quirion) Allarie; an infant son, Richard; a brother, Albert Allarie and a sister, Rita Perreault.
Mr. Allarie is survived by two daughters: Marguerite Moody and her husband Darrell of Manchester and Anita Nored and her husband John of Windsor; five grandchildren: Ryan, Eric, Mary Beth, Jennifer and Meghan, seven great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At the family's request, there will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 7 at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Augusta.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Maine Veterans Home, especially "C" Company, for the care, compassion and love they showed to "Pepere" and the family during his stay with them.
